Check out these simple tips on what not to flush to prevent damage to your sewer system:

Wipes: Contrary to what some packaging claims, no kind of wipe - baby, toilet, disinfecting or cosmetic - are flushable or biodegradable in the wastewater system. They cause backups, damage sewer infrastructure and can lead to microplastic pollution in waterways.

Hygiene products: Feminine hygiene and family planning products and dental floss should not be flushed. Even items marketed as "biodegradable" can block sewer lines before they disintegrate.

Miscellaneous objects: Items like diapers, cotton swabs, toys, hair, food waste and grease should not be flushed.

Chemicals: Household Hazardous Waste such as paint, solvents, cleaning products, motor oil, fertilizers and personal care products are forbidden from being dumped into the toilet, sink, yard, sewer or storm drains.
